Related: About this forumI'm beginning to believe that Sian is no ordinary kitten.
She's more of a kitten/Tasmanian Devil hybrid. This is especially true, right at bed time. She likes to attack my hands, and if I try and hide them beneath the pillow, she starts to tunnel.
I don't suppose my laughing during the attacks helps things.
Of course there's the 'alien face hugger' attacks, too. She will LAUNCH herself, all 4 legs extended, and land dead center on my face.
Sian is filled with shenanigans, that's for sure.

(24,161 posts)I called her Kitty Tornado. Every night she and Basil, our orange tabby, would chase each other throughout the house, knocking over stuff as they went. I got up every morning and put things back in place. i had to move a lot of the breakable "treasures" into storage as they would not have survived. First I moved them to a high sideboard, and out of the blue, she started jumping up there. So I gave in and moved them into storage until she grew out of being a tornado kitty. She would also run up to the floor length curtains and zip up them and sit on the rod. She knew we didn't like it, but thought it was so cool! I miss that beautiful, funny, silent, sweet little cat. She lived to almost 21.

(92,695 posts)Hissing and piss&vinegar attitude when you first met should have clued you in that she was going to be a feisty one! Now that she likes you, sounds like she is so excited that all she can do is belly flops into you face.
Good thing she's tiny right now!

(92,695 posts)Never ending entertainment.
My dearest friend used to keep a sort of group home for cats. She had an outer pantry where the W&D were, it had windows, her cats would come and go from there but she still closed it up at night, it was like they had their own apartment. Being in the university neighborhood there were lots of left behind kitties after each semester and somehow, if they managed to link up with her kitties, the neighborhood strays would find their way to her house. They often had babies but the neighborhood organization got together and raised funds to capture and spay as many as we could in concert with the local shelter. Sometimes we concluded that her cats would invite certain strays in because there was never any fighting or territorial behavior in the "room". It seemed there were kittens on a regular basis and it seemed to keep the older cats more playful when there were younger cats around.
I'm glad that Sian is healthy and happy and such fun for everybody, most of the time.

(27,287 posts)Before I headed out to do some weeding I found her rolling an empty lager can around the living room.
When I came back in she had somehow set my laptop to 200% magnification.
One time she sent something off to the printer. Another time she sent my niece about 30 'thumbs up' on FB Messenger.
I must remember to CLOSE the laptop when I leave the room!!

(66,035 posts)I would find paper all over the floor. As a deafie, I didn't hear the printer when she turned it on, but one time she did it while I was awake and watching, so I stopped loading the paper tray unless I was using it.
My sister's cat used to turn the light switch on and off repeatedly to wake her up in the morning.
My brother's cats as kittens used to climb the flocked wall paper in one room and get stuck. They'd hang there until he found them an plucked them off the wall.
Cats are endlessly amusing.
