Update on Lily cat...

Last edited Fri Jul 7, 2023, 10:46 AM - Edit history (1)

Took her in to get stitches out but as we feared, the stitches wouldn't hold. Since the stitches didn't take the wound from the biopsy wont heal. She's eating but having issues with defecating so giving her pumpkin to help. She is definitely slowing down.

Having to clean area twice a day with antibiotic solution. Pain meds and antibiotics twice a day. So very sad. She really chose me to be her human and this is heartbreaking. But we'll give her all the love and attention she needs until till it's her time. Probably this will be very soon.

I'll have to be the one to make the decision. I don't want her to suffer. She is starting to seek out places to be alone so I know the time is nearing.

My sister bought a pet stroller for her and the boys so I'll take her out for a walk this evening when it cools down.

Took this a few minutes ago. She's had pain meds and is resting.

I can't keep a suffering animal alive for my sake. My babies counted on me to do the right thing and they were put down before it got bad. It ripped me apart but they were counting on me.

so there's nothing dire there. I always knew my cats were nearing the end, they'd turn into total lap fungus during their last good day, their way of saying goodbye to their food source and playmate.

When Lily loses her interest in food, you'll know. Avoiding food is also a human last ditch strategy to starve a cancer. It doesn't work, but it is what it is.

Poor kitty.

and mentions treatment therapy to improve healing in those cases (starting around page 7 under Medications ) It also includes info on Vit A Therapy.

Sending this in the hope it might offer some relief.

All best wishes.
