Something I never experienced with a kitten. His name is Leo and he sucks on his private. We believe to lost his mom when he was much younger, the woman we got him from never explained the situation until we got there to adopt him. Cat litter is foreign to him as well, and she advised to feed him wet food mixed with water.

It's been a little over a week. Leo is learning how to use the cat litter, nursed him with kitten milk formula as well as the wet food.

Was advised to put coconut oil on his private, but it's hard to wean him.

Any suggestions?

I start with a very loose slurry and gradually increase the thickness. Once they figure out what that is, some go head first into the bowl. Almost every kitten I've brought in crawls in to the bowl to eat and ends up covered in food.

Maybe try distracting him when he focuses on that behavior. Is there any swelling or redness? I've honestly never encountered that. When Arthur developed rectal swelling, he did a lot of licking, which probably made the issue worse. The vet put him on antibiotics and, thankfully, the problem resolved and has never returned. So, maybe a visit to the vet might get some help.

She is such a sweet girl but was about 5 months old when I brought her in. I always look forward to when she lets her guard down and comes to me for some affection.

I sleep with 6 dogs, yes, 6. 3 small and 3 large. And I love my morning kisses. One, CJ, gives me random little kisses during the night. Just little pecks on my arm or wherever his face happens to be when he gets the urge. It's very heartwarming, even if it does startle me awake.

It was the very first time I had both girls snuggling with me at the same time. And just us girls. The double purring was lovely.

They boys just sat there, probably thinking this means breakfast will be late. It wasn't.
