and cats evolved in a hot desert environment and they really like to be warm. That's the only explanation I can think of.

They are a great comfort.

visiting daughter for grand daughter's birthday, their cat's around, I'm allergic, and I packed no kleenex. Family busy due to party, I'll be so glad to get home, whenever that happens.

The mini-doxie and the cat must sleep with us at night, and sometimes, the Collie joins us. I'm usually clinging to the edge of the bed, between them and Mr. Bayard. If the 100+ lb Pyr girl tries to pile in too, its time to vacate.

She is extremely attentive to my breathing, to any sounds that are unusual. And she likes to knead me, and snuggle close, and even pat my face and hair.

It's very sweet, and fairly bizarre. I actually can manipulate her by breathing raggedly for a moment. She will come immediately to check on me, cuddle close, pat me.

It's like heaven sent her to me, at a difficult time in my life.

I loved that. My current cat will sleep on my legs but I toss and turn all night so he ends up sleeping beside my legs when he does come to my room to sleep. He does like it when I put the fuzzy blanket out for him in the living room too. He gets all excited as he waits for me to lay it all out. I wish I was so enthusiastic about sleeping as Captain Hughey is.

colder weather, he will snuggle under the covers with me, and without me.
These furry little beings are such a joy.
