I fed him dry food with a tablespoon of leftover shepherds pie I mixed it into the dry.
He is laying on kitchen floor with his head inside his empty dog dish licking it and licking it.

Shes polishing my empty bowl of oatmeal at the moment.
Maybe found an oat or 3, a small chunk of apple, a dribble of milk, and a hint of cinnamon.
If I didnt know better, Id think the bowl was ready to go back in the cabinet.
Ewwww.
Dog slobber. Shudder.
Reminds me of an old Peanuts cartoon with Snoopy and Lucy. Arrrrggggghhhhh! Ive been kissed by a dog!
The older she gets, the more she drools. Perhaps the same fate awaits me, may it not be soon.
Speaking of copious liquid, Its raining! Forecast for rain all day, and we sure need it.
Drought conditions in western NC, wildfires in the Nantahala Forest, land parched, creeks and rivers low.
Our well is 700 feet deep, and our well pump tripped last week because the water was so low. Fortunately it did its job and turned the pump off so it didnt destroy itself. 12 hours later, the well had recharged enough to start pumping again, but weve been more frugal than usual in our water usage.
A good soaking rain. Im thankful for every drop.

(3,010 posts)It didn't matter if I was making spaghetti or sloppy joes, I would always take a spoonful of the hamburger grease and mix it on the dogs' kibble. Nikki, Samson and Eightball would be sitting there, drooling in anticipation.
