I've been feeling a little 'down'. And been spending lots of time with a lap full of kidcats who are doing their BEST to distract me from my seasonal/holiday sadness.

Like, for instance, Gryff. Last night he knocked the cable box to the floor so he could have extra room to stretch out and beg for tummy scritches. Or Sian, who did a most impressive LEAP to the kitchen counter, to check on why it was taking me SO LONG to dish up their breakfast.

Carys, who has been spending LOTS of time on the cat tree, just staring at me.

And, of course, Madoc and Arthur. I can't move an inch without them following me.

The outdoor babies are doing just fine and spending lots of time in the enclosed porch. They all come running when I open the door and swarm every dish as I spoon out their food. Dylan, Rhys, Rhian and Bronwyn are always happy to get a scritch and a kiss.

Admittedly, this year has been particularly hard on me with not just the holiday sadness but also a growing fear of what next year, especially next November, will bring. It's a hard time for someone with anxiety, that's for sure.

It’s bad enough I obsess over my two kitties. Gryff sounds like a real pal. I was just telling Patches this morning, I’d be mighty lonesome without him. I’m feeling very depressed as well. I know Joe Biden, he’s been good to me, and I take it personally when they slander him. And I always have problems when the days are mostly darkness. This is good though I feel better hearing from you and the kidcats

Well, and I needed purified water so I can make some much needed coffee. I did get to see a momentarily beautiful pre-dawn sky. The sky was a sheet of dark gray but to the east, there was a slim area of beautiful and bright pink, blue and orange. It has now disappeared.

Sian and Arthur are wrestling inside the nylon tunnel. Now it's at a standoff but I can see Arthur's eyes, very wide and glowing green.

I love that post breakfast burst of energy they have.

to pull the covers over our heads and just burrow/hibernate, our kits need to be fed, fresh water, litter boxes cleaned, scritches administered, etc. And since the little darlings have such accurate internal chronometers, they tend to keep us on at least somewhat of a schedule.

Bless our precious babies for all the love and joy they bring us.

incentives to get up and get going. They are our purpose for sure.

Little Sian's appetite is off, this morning, but I did get her to eat some tuna. Now I'll worry about her. I'm going to bring out the treats, later.

My plan is to head out and buy them a new cat tree, today. That old one is getting frighteningly wobbly. I'll try to reinforce it and then move it to the enclosed porch for the kittens.

all is ok. This is for you Siwsan. We need you as much as you need your kitcats. I’m glad you saw a sliver of dawn. Remember that when feeling down.
