The six tomcats I got out of the hoarder house are now all neutered, loose in the house, and adjusting nicely. Theyre not feral exactly, more feralishthey can be touched, but on their terms. But now that theyre comfortable and settling in, a couple of them have resumed an old tomcat habitthey serenade. If youve ever had a tomcat serenading on your back patio, you know how loud and persistent their yowls are. A couple of my guys are now into walking around the house yowling loudly at night. They dont want anything in particular, they just seem to have a serenading routine. So Im up too early contemplating my future of being woken up by serenading every night by cats who will never be adoptable because they serenade all night.

(15,190 posts)It goes on whenever theyre awake. Theres a certain black cat named George Id like to throttle. I was at Walmart earlier this morning looking for Feliway to see if that would help, but they didnt have it. Have to wait for Petsmart to open.

(15,190 posts)Another night of yowling. I know one shouldnt speak ill of the dead, but Im really angry at the man who left behind all these unsocialized tomcats. If they had been living outdoors, theyd have been neutered and put right back out, but these cats were living indoors.

(3,007 posts)Some days it's "Lion Kitteh Safareh" around here. We're lucky because they go outside to do that most of the time. Ours came from a feral litter, but we caught them and neutered them as kittens. Thanks for taking care of them. Sorry for the noise. Hopefully they'll settle down and give you a break.
