Related: About this forumGryff is one smart little house panther
He loves to play fetch, and that includes trying to start a game at (and after) bedtime. And he NEVER GETS TIRED so I have to hide his latest toy, a raccoon, so I can try to get some sleep. At night I slide it way under the blankets and then first thing in the morning I find some sort of hidey hole to challenge him and it's never the same place twice.
And no matter where I hide it, he finds it. If I don't notice, he gently taps my arm. If I don't react fast enough those taps get more frequent and much less gentle. Like right now.
He also will not bring it to me and expect me to go find it, myself, and give it another toss. He will pester me until I do.
Oops - he just chased it without watching where he was going, and he ran straight into the couch! I think he's decided to give it a rest. Thankfully. Now to find another hidey hole.

(34,409 posts)Our animals are smart! They teach us their games. Whoever said dumb animals needs to spend some time around one.
If Im tired or occupied for whatever reason and she wants to play she either brings my arm over with the ball in her mouth or she puts the ball in my hand then pokes me with her paw.

(27,238 posts)Little Bronwyn knows her name. In the mornings all of the porch kitcats get a scritch before I dish out the food. Sometimes she gets impatient and heads for the bowls but I say 'Bronwyn! No food before scritches!' and she comes running back to me.
With the indoor kidcats, I don't dare utter the word 'treat' unless I'm prepared to hand some out.
Arthur recognizes the words 'I love you.' and slow blinks at me when I say them.

How sweet Arthur recognizes I love you and reacts to it!
