My friend sent me this picture of her new kitten

I don’t think she will mind if I post it. The name is has been Marley, but she’s also wavering toward Puffin as a name. Which does anybody think is better? I drove with her up to her sister the vet yesterday, with the kitty carrier in my lap and the kitty seemed fine, got some more treatment and seems to be doing well.

Glad to hear he's doing better! Looks like a sweet little baby soon to become a crazed monster about the house.

Sir Marley of Puffin. I tend to give my cats long, rather absurd names with literary allusions and wordplay. Thus, I have shared my home with Hastur The Unspeakable, Tsarina Natasha Krospina I (Empress of All The Cats), HRM Queen of Carcosa Shadowskittyboomboom The Pitiless, Ulthar Ynxpaaht, Miss Katonic Neferkitty, and The Grey Mouser.

With the season I immediately thought Marley’s ghost from a Christmas Carol.

What’s in a name? Lots.

I had a tuxedo cat years ago, her name was Yoshi. She'd jump up on my desk and get into my desk supplies. Her favorite was a rubber band .She'd grab one in her mouth and snag the ends on her front and back feet, and stretch out on the floor. It appeared that she was flossing her teeth.

And now that you mention it, I do think Marley sounds a little more like a girl’s name. Yes a sweet little tuxedo kitten.
