Poor Merlin had his first 'trauma'.

I was rushing around, getting things ready to scramble an egg. I grabbed the small cast iron skillet and closed the cabinet door, not realizing that Merlin had climbed IN to the cabinet. Afterwards I was in the kitchen, doing dishes and putting things away. He didn't make any sound.

When I didn't see him for a while I started calling his name. That's when I heard a frantic meowing but couldn't quite tell from where so I started recalling my steps and then realized where he likely was. His eyes were HUGE. I picked him and and brought him to the den where he climbed up and started making frantic biscuits and LOUDLY suckling on my neck. Those biscuits makers started to hurt so I pulled out a little squeeze treat for him. And then another. Then gave him some wet food.

He will wander off, now, but returns in a few minutes for some more comforting. He has yet to stop suckling and purring.

Poor little wizard!! He's probably going to need a lot of reassurance that he's OK.

He's all black and would go into the cabinets or closets and get locked in when I was wondering where he was I would hear that faint meow. Felt so horrible for my baby boy. He got lots of hugs 💙 curious little babies they are

I don't know if he didn't make a sound or if the door made it inaudible. Either way, I finally missed him. Went looking around and noticed that the refrigerator door had grown a black tail.

It must have been very frustrating for him. With his tail caught in the door, he couldn't reach anything.

The males will always go/do things out of curiosity that
gets them in trouble. It will be something else soon, I'm sure.
Like climbing up on something and not being able to get down.

Remember you met Merlin when he, somehow, became abandoned on your stoop. He didn't know where he was or why he suddenly found himself in the dark, all alone, without a clue what to do. He may not remember the precise event but, psycologically, he might have a subliminal association to similar predicaments.

So I haven't gotten much done except to reassure him he's safe. I did just manage to make a cup of tea.
