In this video I document the last day of analog NTSC TV broadcasting in the United States on July 13th, 2021. I show TV stations that are still on the air and as they shut down thanks to viewer submitted videos. Besides a few translators in Alaska analog TV should no longer exist in the US. Were there any TV stations that stayed on the air past the deadline?

(106,335 posts)1. what I miss: There used to be a tv analog radio band that mini-radios/walkman type devices
could pick up and instead of watching content you could listen-- like a podcast-- while exercising or doing other things. And for shows where the characters never really changed, this was a great way to enjoy tv without becoming a couch potato.
So, THAT was a loss for me.

(60,931 posts)2. I have a bunch of those things too.
I have long thought that every major city should have one analog TV station so that people could watch on those battery-powered 5" TVs that were so handy in emergencies. I kept one going during a power outage caused by a weather emergency some years ago. A motorcycle battery was my power source.
And good morning.
