(11,780 posts)1. I've seen a restored PT in Portland during the Rose Festival.
Bigger than Id pictured but I think they were about 80 ft long what caught my attention was the amount of fire power packed into it. I think there was a Bofors 40mm on the front deck and a 20mm autocanin on the back deck. At least four .50 caliber machine guns. Four torpedo tubes and a few depth charges. I don know if the 40mm was standard but Ive heard they PT guys were always looking to add firepower.

The PT boat is way bigger than I thought it was. I thought it was the size of a cigar boat. Was off by a few multiples.

He was part of a PT boat veterans group. Different world then. He would have loved this.
