Gaslighting is a specific thing.

Little Miss Persnickity Language Pers9n here again, hoping people will limit their use of "gaslighting" to describe actual instances of gaslighting. The term is thrown around much too loosely. We here at DU can set a good example by not slinging this term to recklessly. Thanks.

"Gaslighting is a colloquialism, loosely defined as manipulating someone into questioning their own perception of reality."

That is specifically what I have it seen it used on DU to describe.

Perhaps I've missed the posts you're referring to.

Perhaps "microgaslighting" would be appropriate. "Did you go to the store, son?" "No." "You're gaslighting me--my entire perception of reality has ended, mother!"
