The British Royal Air Force, with some help from other countries, singlehandedly stopped Hitler from invading
Great Britain in this battle. It was a brutal battle and many British flyers were lost.

and the Chain Home system to see the German Air force form up and know where they were going was crucial. For the RAF to be able to get in the air quickly and above the formations in a timely manner was crucial.
Another fact was the Luftwaffe saw the radars on surveillance pics but failed to see the importance of it. The failure to knock out the British air fields and switch to bombing London also contributed to giving the RAF breathing room and regroup was critical also.
It seemed all the dominoes fell into place at the right time to save their asses...
