snip-"106 years ago today, the German Workers’ Party (DAP), a small nationalist political group that would later evolve into the National Socialist German Workers’ Party (Nazi Party), was founded by a locksmith named Anton Drexler. At the time, it was one of many fringe movements that emerged amid the chaos following Germany’s defeat in the First World War.

Later that year, a young Adolf Hitler would join the party and in 1920 it would be renamed the National Socialist German Workers’ Party. One year later, Hitler would become leader, setting in motion the chain of events that would lead to the outbreak of World War Two."
