Foreign Policy online "Rare photographs of a time when Britain really mattered." (ouch!)

Big, if mediocre quality, photos from 19th Century London as seen in Foreign Policy magazine. The subtitle's a bit harsh. The fog effects, as I understand from watching Mad Men, are actually due to the industrial revolution, then in full swing. Judging from the fashions, I'm guessing these are from the 1870s or earlier.
