L.A. schools police will return grenade launchers but keep rifles, armored vehicle

QuestionableHat Retweeted

So, it seems fair to say the Los Angeles Unified School District's police force needs neither "three grenade launchers" (which are being returned) nor a "Mine Resistant Ambush Protected Armored Vehicle" (which it intends to keep).

LA has money for that? Does it have money for school nurses, school counselors? How many teachers per student in the LA school system?

grenade launchers in the first place? If they were offered in the first place why did they even take them? Why wouldn't it be something like, "Do you want some grenade launchers?" "No, thanks, we don't need grenade launchers. Or armored vehicles, for that matter." And while we're at it, why is there even a school district police force?

de-militarizing them, and having them respond only to violent crime.

Let's do those things before we talk about abolishing them and we all put on our Lord of the Flies outfits.

Why would anyone want to go to a school where such items were actually needed?
