2 NYPD Officers beat 16 y.o. black kid for raising his hands

Well the teen did have some weed on him, but still .. this is just one more reason to legalize pot.
Let's criminalize police brutality, not drugs.

BROOKLYN — Two NYPD officers are under criminal investigation after punching and bashing a 16-year-old suspect in the face with a gun despite the teen raising his hands to surrender, according to a video obtained by DNAinfo New York.

The surveillance footage obtained exclusively by “On The Inside" shows the two officers catch up to marijuana suspect Kahreem Tribble after a brief chase in Bedford-Stuyvesant.

As the teen stops running, one officer throws a punch at his face. Then, as the suspect raises his hands, the other officer clocks him with his gun.

Tribble was arrested for possessing 17 small bags of marijuana and disorderly conduct on Aug. 29. At his arraignment, he pleaded guilty to a violation and was released with cracked teeth and bruises.

The officers from the 79th Precinct are now targets of a criminal investigation conducted by the NYPD’s Internal Affairs Bureau and Brooklyn District Attorney Kenneth Thompson.

As bad as it ever was!
Sometimes I think that they are required to beat so many people every month.
They will get off with office jobs.
They would not do well in jail, especially Riker's.

Then the response should be simple, you are fired from your position after a fair and judgement in the court by your peers. There are good, able bodied and law-abiding prospective police who would gladly take the place of abusers of their positions.

No wonder the FBI are constantly investigating the NYPD. You are lucky to at least have the spotlight on these atrocities and action by the federal police to counter the abuses. In Canada we have the RCMP, let's just say they are far too often part of the problem to actually investigate other municipal agencies, it would be hypocritical of them to do so.

This was an unusual case, but I see a 16 year old man, and this was considered a child bye man made law. I was big at 16, and I understood the damage I was capable of, if I decided to. I fully understood how easy it would be to take advantage of any opportunity at this status. I always stayed away from doing the wrong thing. I feel village, township, State, and Federal law management should have a good understanding of police being very inexperienced in many areas in life, and all law enforcement should have better management in place. We the people have a joke for a voting system, and this allows for bad management, which allows officers to go less noticed and allows for bad officers to continue to abuse the law to damage peoples records and make it easy to turn normal people into criminals while going through a normal life lesson mistake. It doesn't help when "The People" of our villages, towns, and cites' don't pay attention to the system, don't vote and don't seem to have much time to get involved. The economy is bad, and the system takes advantage of the people being overworked or too tired to get as involved as they should. Our judges set in place seem to not take into consideration enough of the bad character, bad judgment and inexperienced officers. Officers should also be allowed to learn without too much fear, as long as their character is proven, but a much longer probation period should be standard and put into place.
