Gun Control & RKBA
Related: About this forumPossible mass shooting stopped by unarmed man.
Authorities said Sheka fired one round into a wall.
The affidavit says the woman saw Sheka swinging around a small black handgun.
Torrez was able to pull the gun out of Shekas hand and remove the magazine. Several others swarmed Sheka to subdue him, according to the affidavit.
Torrez made sure the gun was unloaded and took it, along with the magazine and an unspent round, to his hotel room to secure the gun.

(4,462 posts)We have laws against assault, improper firearm discharge, etc., and they were apparently properly enforced, even against a fellow police officer. The officer will additionally be subject to employment discipline.
As with other threads, I would be interested to know the pertinent point the OP wishes to convey in posting this story, and would be more than willing to engage in an appropriate discussion? As he has previously objected to my conjecture as to his motives, I will wait for his substantive analysis and response...

(6,771 posts)What? No AR-15? I thought they were the sine qua non for mass shootings. No 33-round magazine? Did he even have a spare mag?
Off-duty cop? Small black handgun? I'm guessing a Ruger LCP with seven rounds.

(12,194 posts)What does this have to do with the 99.9x percent of gun owners who do not misuse their firearms?
Particularly since this was a police officer who, presumably, would not be subject to your preferred anti-gun rules/laws/legislation.
