Yet more soldiers in our "well-regulated militias"---

Texas woman with a concealed gun accidentally shoots a patient in her doctor's office

Can you imagine sitting in an exam room, waiting to be seen by a doctor and then BAM! You've been shot. That's exactly what happened to a Texas woman this week:

A witness told KCEN's sister station 12News that a woman was in the waiting room of a medical office. When she reached into her purse to pull out some paperwork, a gun fell out of her purse causing it to discharge. The round went through a wall and hit another patient in the hip.

Bobby Pressley was in the waiting room when it happened.

"Everyone was sitting in the waiting room and there was a gun shot. A woman dropped her purse down on the counter and it shot through the wall and shot another lady," said Pressley.

Police are investigating, no charges have been filed....yet.

Hunting dog named Trigger accidentally shoots owner

Sometimes you have to double or triple check a story to make certain it isn't satire from The Onion:

Allie Carter, 25, of Avilla was hunting waterfowl at Tri-County Fish and Wildlife Area on Saturday when the Indiana Department of Natural Resources (DNR) was called around 10 a.m. on reports of someone shot while hunting.

Carter was apparently repositioning herself while hunting waterfowl and placed her 12-gauge shotgun on the ground at her feet. That’s when the DNR said her 10-year-old chocolate Labrador, “which is ironically and aptly named Trigger,” stepped on the shotgun. The gun went off and shot Carter in the foot, point-blank.

Carter broke a basic hunter safety rule and is likely reconsidering the safety class she apparently skipped:

Carter reportedly did not complete a hunter education course and the DNR said the shotgun’s safety was not on. Conservation officers want the public to be mindful that accidents like this happen. They said the muzzle of a firearm should always be pointed in a safe direction, using the safety mechanism.

How progressive of you.

So, what other inanimate objects do you imbue with self awareness?

People do stupid stuff with a myraid of objects, causing harm to others in the process.
How many people were killed today due to mistakes made by another person while driving a motor vehicle?
Two incidents? Statistically speaking, they don't exist.
Just two anecdotal instances drug up to make some sort of point that isn't being made very well at all.

What 'well regulated militia" would that be, and what relationship does it have to the 80+ million people in possession of 250+ million firearms, who do not and will not commit gun violence?
