The gun control movement retreats to revitalize itself

https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/the-gun-control-movement-retreats-to-revitalize-itself/2015/10/27/cabf918c-7ce4-11e5-afce-2afd1d3eb896_story.html

Gross overstates the (gun control) case. (Among his tipping-point evidence: supportive tweets from Kim Kardashian.) But there is some truth to what he says. From the legislative debacle following Sandy Hook, the gun-control movement has retreated to a limited but pragmatic approach. Gone is the notion of “gun control,” replaced by “reducing gun deaths” or “gun violence prevention.” Gone, for now, are efforts to restrict any type of gun or ammunition. Instead, the movement has found a laser focus on background checks.

I don't agree with most of this opinion piece, but I do think the notion of controllers citing support from Kim Kardashian as the "tipping point" is pretty funny. Her sister Khloe appears to be a 2A supporter to some unknown degree.

I suspect that while background checks may be the 'public face' they're trying to show, they're dead set on tying registration to it.

Any bills put forth still need to be monitored very closely.

More and more people are seeing through their bullshit, many legislatures are passing laws allowing CCW and the courts keep handing the gun control extremists a steady string of defeats.
