Man with gun accused of threatening driver's ed group

MANCHESTER, N.H. —Police said three teenagers and a driver's education instructor were threatened by a man with a gun while one of the students was learning how to parallel park.

Joseph Duven, 22, of Manchester, faces several charges after he was accused of threatening four people taking part in a driver's ed. class Tuesday evening.

Police said one of three teenage students in the car was trying to parallel park on Chestnut Street when a man approached the vehicle and threatened to shoot them if they hit his car.

"There were some words exchanged, and an alleged threat was made," Lt. Brian O'Keefe said. "When they turned around and saw the male who had allegedly threatened them, they observed the handgun strapped to his hip, so the instructor did the right thing and immediately told (the driver) to leave. They left the area and called us."
