Do we all need guns to protect ourselves from all the other legal gun owners who haven't committed a crime yet?

"You can't take them away from us"

You need a gun for "protection." What happens if something changes and the rest of need protection from you?

Guns are not the only lethal weapons. Should we ban everything that might be a lethal weapon, because someone may *snap"? That makes a lot whole lot of sense.

despite 80-100+ million lawful gun owners (over 1 out of every 3 American adults), and 300+ million legal firearms.

Nevertheless, if you believe a firearm will make you safer for whatever reason (or you just like to hunt or target shoot), it's good you have the choice. Personal safety should be everyone's choice and responsibility.

The percentage of legal gun owners who actually commit any crimes with their firearms is barely a statistical rounding error.

I will consider supporting policies that actually and specifically target those who criminally misuse firearms, but will not punish tens of millions of peaceful and law-abiding Americans, engage in a culture war, and I certainly will not eviscerate or abrogate the Constitution well beyond the 2A to do it.

You are free to advocate your "pre-crime" approach to gun control, and view over a third of your fellow American adults, including millions of Democrats, as psychopaths ready to snap, but you will achieve similar or worse political and legal results than now.

That the loudest voices for gun control do not care if you are a victim of violence, they just want to be sure you are not a victim of gun violence

Guns have no other purpose than to kill and destroy. They can kill many people very quickly. There is no other common weapon like it.

Take mine for instance, they can save many people very quickly. There is no other common life saving device like it.
