Woman Who Shot At Fleeing Home Depot Shoplifters Gets Probation, Gun Rights Revoked
ROCHESTER HILLS (WWJ/AP) A 46-year-old customer who shot at shoplifters fleeing a Home Depot in metro Detroit has been sentenced to probation.
Tatiana Duva-Rodriguez, of Clarkston, was sentenced Wednesday in Rochester Hills District Court to 18 months probation after pleading no-contest to reckless discharge of a gun. During that time, she is prohibited from buying, possessing or carrying a firearm. The judge also revoked Duva-Rodriguezs license to carry a concealed weapon. She wont eligible to apply again until 2023.
Duva-Rodriguez opened fire in the parking lot of the Auburn Hills Home Depot, flattening a tire on the thieves SUV in October.
According to police, Duva-Rodriguez was watching as 52-year-old Lloyd Wenn exited the store with a cart full of merchandise. Wenn was being followed by a store employee, who was trying to stop him because the items were not paid for. Wenn got into the getaway vehicle, driven by 46-year-old Anthony Harris, and began to flee when Duva-Rodriguez took action and fired at least three times.
