Wendy Davis Haunted by Her Campaign Stance on Guns

Former Texas Democratic gubernatorial candidate Wendy Davis opened up on Politico last week about a campaign regret. In a revealing bit of honesty, Davis said her decision to support the open carry of handguns during her campaign has haunted her.

Texas hasn't elected a Democratic governor since 1991 and had she opposed open carry of handguns, I doubt she would have made it anywhere near the impressive 38% of the vote she was able to capture in Texas.

People are disgusted with the notion of gun control. Running a campaign on destroying the Bill of Rights just isn't effective unless your name is George W. Bush.

......to twice veto concealed carry in Texas after Luby's massacre. In doing so, she may well have handed Shrub the key to the governor's mansion, which in turn positioned The Monstrous Twit for the White House.

Irrational Controller hate and the f'ed up policies that spring from it come with a huge political price tag attached, though the restrictionistas will never admit it.

If you're going to be guided by personal beliefs then elected official isn't your line of work.
