I believe the gun lobbys obstruction of common sense legislation is getting people killed. It is time for the gun lobby to join us in helping pass common sense legislation that will save lives said Senator Dave Marsden.
In an effort to kick start a conversation Senator Marsden hung a banner in front of his General Assembly office which shared that sentiment:
Welcome gun lobby day members. I know you mean well. But, if it isnt too much trouble, please stop trying to save our lives Too many people are getting killed in the effort.

(18,565 posts)I haven't seen any useful gun legislation recently and I thought obstructing useless gun legislation was kind of their job.
Isn't this more of an indictment of the pro-control think tanks that don't seem to be able to articulate any useful gun legislation? I mean asking the folks you call 'the terrorists' to ease up?? Really???

(49,445 posts)Neither side will believe the other when flaws are pointed out, for example. Hell, the Party won't even consider debating changing the platform on guns, and to the people in GD and GD: P the DNC's position on gun control goes unchallenged.
That's because, of course, no true liberal would challenge the plank because it's common sense. Only trolls with NRA talking points would. Ergo, dissension is not patriotic, it's troll action.

How much are you and all your gun control buddies donating to his campaign fund to support his courageous gun control efforts?
The usual amount? $0.00 for each gun control supporter?
An annual NRA membership is about $35 I think, so everyone that belongs to the gun control group or claims to support more "common sense" gun control politically should write a check for at least that amount to this hero today, right?

But tomorrow morning they'll all write this brave person a check to show their rock solid support.
And monkeys will fly ... etc.

(1,941 posts)for $500 and Easy Pay Life memberships for $500 through the end of February 2016. It's a good deal, especially for people who don't like supporting the NRA's political arm. Now, citing the fact NRA-PVF supports Democrats who support gun rights, I don't see the issue with donating to any NRA organization.
