1. The price needs to come down. I go without any noise reduction when hunting...

...deer, as you need to hear what's going on around you (deer are quiet, but not that quiet), and I need to hear shouts from fellow hunters when dove hunting, or they will fly right on by. I am considering ear-in noise suppressors which actually enhance hearing, except when the gun report occurs. Don't know how well these work.

3. I've used noise suppression ear muffs and they do work well

I don't hunt, but there are also some low profile ear muffs that should not affect getting a proper cheek weld on the stock.

I've used two kinds, one that reduces the gunshot volume to a safe level, but you can still hear or another kind that cuts out the noise of the gunshot and the amplification resumes after the peak noise of the gunshot.

They work extremely well but are hot and bulky on the range.

Also the AAA batteries are a PITA to switch out on the low profile ones.

12. Too much punk rock and hunting will give you a 24-7 ring...

...Fortunately, that doesn't bother me. But there is a definite muddiness. I am considering the "hearing aid/suppressor." Wearing muffs while deer hunting is like a prophylactic... well, it does insulate you from nature. Makes for crappy hunting, both practically and aesthetically.

2. Wonder if they'll be OK for Iowa On Campus Carry too?

I understand some self described "Professors" are more than a little freaked out at the fact that Iowa already allows the school to decide if Campus Carry is OK and now this!!!

Now evil suppressors too?

4. I expect our alleged calculus professor

to post some cartoons or something only barely relevant to the topic at hand. Probably a personal attack and some faux outrage as well.

Not quite sure how tethered to reality he is, based on some of his posts and responses.

14. Most of them don't have a clue what the European laws really are

They just assume they must be tougher in every way, so they want them out of ignorance more than insight.

When they find out about the easy availability of suppressors they'll quickly change their minds.

But it's probably too late for them to mount any kind of campaign now. They're still fiddling with rifles with protruding grips that look scary and the liability insurance scam.

Even some guns British subjects can own are felonies in California, I think...
