LGBT Gun Group Membership Spikes After Florida Shooting

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Memberships have more than doubled in a national LGBT pro-gun rights organization since a gunman opened fire at a gay nightclub in Florida, killing 49 people.

Pink Pistols Utah chapter President Matt Schlentz said Pink Pistols membership has grown from 1,500 to 4,000 since Omar Mateen's June 12 rampage, the Salt Lake Tribune reported (http://bit.ly/29p0eMI).

"It's really sad that something on this scale had to happen for people to realize this is a need for our community," Schlentz said. "But the reality is, we still get attacked for kissing our partners or holding hands in public. We get windows smashed for having an equality sticker on them."

Schlentz owns semi-automatic rifles similar to the Sig Sauer MCX that Mateen used and said he gets mixed reactions from people who learn he's a gun rights advocate.

Unless the media has infiltrated the entire LGBT community in Utah to plant this story...

Why would you be sad that they want to defend themselves against haters? Are you that set against people being able to protect themselves and their families?

We've heard that before but directed towards people targeted by hate groups is a new twist.

Climate deniers also think everything they disagree with or just don't like in the media is a lie.

Of course, people like ISIS, KKK, and alike don't plan on letting you walking away. The asshole in Orlando was telling 911 that he pledged his allegiance to ISIS and Hezbollah. Meanwhile, OPD SWAT stood around with their fingers up their asses for three hours while the wounded bled to death. If it weren't for a busted radiator hose, a friend of the family would have been there.

Long gone on DU now, but still pissing and moaning on Discussionist between suspensions.

She styled herself as a self designated spokesperson for African-Americans and the entire LGBT community.

She swore that the Pink Pistols was totally invented by the NRA to make them look less homophobic and there were no actual members.

When a poster who was a member called her out, she refused to acknowledge it.

Denial is a big thing for control minded folk.
