We've got bombshell news for the gun community.
Spread this far and wide. My friend has uncovered an organized group of trolls working 24/7 for months to take down THOUSANDS of Facebook pages, groups, and personal accounts for being even remotely related to firearms. Even going as far as compiling names of all persons in gun groups (doxing).
Remember months ago when Facebook made private gun sales a violation of TOS, and how mysteriously thousands of groups and pages started being taken down that weren't even selling firearms? Well we've uncovered the rat's nest responsible for this campaign of targeted harassment..

(2,375 posts)Thanks for posting this, beevul. My first exposure to the Liberal Rifle Association --- I'll be checking in with them frequently.
Edited to add: Here's another in an endless list of examples that demonstrate that The Controllers have no idea what they're up against. People in high places all over the country understand that dishonesty needs to be confronted vigorously --- and do so:

(21,000 posts)Because if you spout RW talking points like due process , quote your "rights" from the konstitooshun or you value freedumb[/i ] or liburty you are fine with thousands of dead children a year.
Not all take this position of course but I have been told to be careful of the company you keep. It is your own fault if you get identified with the extreme edge.

(18,318 posts)what not go after the First? Trouble wih all this is that two can play that game. Reminds me of that old Mad Magazine story about the race for anti-ballistic missiles; stuff flying all over, getting shot down while getting shot, until the new technology: One superpower sends a missile backwards through the earth and blows a chunk out the other side, just after that side of the globe sends one to......

(8,491 posts)"One of the group pages she flagged for removal, which appears to have been shut down, recently changed names from Guns & Ammo to Buns & Cammo, complete with a photo of two hamburger buns as the background picture. Another increasingly popular approach is posting a photo of a gun next to another, benign object, such as a can of soda or bed sheets. One post that advocates flagged for removal recently depicts a slightly used bottle of ketchup next to a cheap handgun. The price: $100."

Haven't seen any evidence of abuse so far although there probably is some on the part of the alerters, while there is ample evidence of abuse from people selling them.

(1,265 posts)Their business model is to use member-generated content to create page-views by other people for the purpose of selling advertising. There's nothing inherently evil about that, but it's not likely to lead to a free-speech Shangri-La either.

(5,046 posts)Over in our "local" GCRA...
Any straying from the "doctrine" as handed down from 1%'er Bloomberg is instantly taken in as fact without any question.
That fact is all you need to know. One night long ago I made a post over their by mistake, I deleted it in a matter of minutes when I realized the mistake was made...
I was summarily banned, and I received this email from the GCRA host...
Shows just how "tolerant" they are don't it...When you cannot defend your stance, you cannot allow anyone who disagrees even speak to you, or your followers.

(6,185 posts)(Rhetorical question of course)
The one that's now flagged for review and likely on his way out, after being alert stalked by his own people?
Or one of the many excited "co-hosts" that demanded a "gun nut free group" then left after a month or so and can't be bothered now?
Such is their deep commitment to their cause.

The exact same thing happened with me, but I got a slightly different message:
Blocked for a deleted post, late at night, the content of which the blocker never saw.

(16,974 posts)Like one of the new hosts that got a tiny rebuke from a host, then got mad and deleted weeks of posts and hid for a few months.

(16,974 posts)Was that not the host that had to take over because the others kind of ran away leaving it unmoderated.
