Gun Control & RKBA

Assault Weapon: A semi-automatic rifle capable of accepting magazine fed ammunition with certain irrelevant cosmetic or ergonomic features. Recently "assault weapon" has been updated to "assault rifle" by certain uninformed and/or deceptive parties. The reason for the terms being applied to the above firearms is certain people don't like them and want to ban rifles that don't look like fudd guns. Then they can ban fudd guns... and handguns... and shotguns...
...and maybe, eventually even your can of beans.

(12,194 posts)I'd say thats true for those in the gun control camp that use the terms interchangeably.
They know precisely what they're doing.

Certain handguns and shotguns were also part of the federal AWB back in the day, IIRC. And we know the GrabNutz will go after those as well. (A .50 caliber Desert Eagle can shoot down a passenger jet from 30,000 feet!!! Ban it!!!)
