http://www.campussafetymagazine.com/article/Sexual-Assault-Statistics-and-MythsMy daughter went to college and her apartment neighborhood was a crap hole. She was followed home several times, she was ticketed by campus safety for carrying mace and a knife. 20 to 25% of college women get sexually assaulted and you present one annicdotal example of your agenda.
And some people make a game out of it by betting on it, that's totally sick.
Addendum:
Read the edit history of the OP, shameful original post.

(15,396 posts)of some sort with a 5-6# trigger.
New inexperienced carriers are often guided toward service type pistols because there's no safety to worry about in the event of a life threatening situation. But these noobies also have bad habits that are better suited for a safety or at the least a nice DA/SA hammer fired pistol.

(671 posts)I still have a Springfield XD40, but with the notable exception of an EAA Witness Elite Match that I bought for Corporate Challenge, all my newer semi-auto pistols are DA/SA with a hard DA trigger pull.
There is one new wheel-gun (a Ruger SP-101 .327 with a 4-inch barrel). that I bought for a female friend of the family to use to become familiar with revolvers. It shoots everything from .32 ACP to .327 Magnum, which makes it both a fun range toy and a good gun for the glove box. What you have is a small-frame 6-shot with 95% of the muzzle energy of a .357 round, all ready to go by just pulling the trigger. Throw in a couple of speed-loaders, and you have more than enough firepower to handle any situation that you should ever find yourself in as a civilian.
Face it - if this isn't enough, then you are in the REALLY wrong place at the REALLY wrong time.

(2,717 posts)... caused no injuries and only minor property damage.
... that is just the first one that was noticed, and reported.
My money is that there were others, just either not reported and/ or covered up.
If an accidental gunshit in the woods is not heard by anyone but the shooter, does it make a sound?
