Are you for making suppressors legal without the ATF investigation?

Guns are inherently loud, loud enough to damage hearing. Putting a muffler on one shouldn't be Big Freaking Deal.

Guns also get hot, so an insulating grip around a barrel also shouldn't be a BFD.

Neither should ergonomic grips.

... that the prohibitions on barrel shrouds, pistol-gripped rifles, et al, make about as much sense as mandating that all rifles must weigh 30 pounds and be embedded with ground glass.

That, IMO, is the exact problem with passing new laws. Being stuck with a selection of prohibitions which only cost society and serve as a distraction, is incredibly counterproductive. This is especially costly to our party. Laws like the suppressor restrictions don't have any effect on criminals. I don't remember any stories of murders using suppressors other than maybe the occasional mob hit but even they were in common use, victims would not be more dead or hurt any worse nor would these weapons be silent.

Once common sense rises to the surface our party faces division over correcting the laws.

Such non-sense laws are only useful should one be searching for a reason to pass a law and then look back and bang one's head. If that's the goal then pass another AWB, set mag sizes to 5, ban bayonets and mounting lugs and hire a cadre of officers to protect society from them all.

Open carry pistol: evil.
Concealed pistol: evil.
Pistol which can't be concealed without wearing an ankle length coat: even eviler.
Thing that makes a pistol less concealable: evilest.

7. And magazines forward of the trigger instead of in the grip

This makes them heavy, bulky, very hard to conceal, and shortens the barrel for any given firearm length. Yet, they're "assault weapons".

... you can grab that forwarded-mounted magazine like a second grip in order to facilitate "spray firing from the hip." Y'know, like the Olympic shooters do with their Pardinis and Hämmerlis ...
