Looks like an exceptional read.

(28,779 posts)I'm a Democrat, and I'm glad Scalia is no longer with us. Naming a law school after the old bastard is the educational equivalent of erecting a confederate war "hero" statue, while such artifacts are justifiably coming down, all over the country. Given the enormous favors that Scalia did for the gun militancy movement in this country, I can see where members of the Gun Control/RKBA group wouldn't share my viewpoint. Suits me.

(18,579 posts)I realize you don't favor a number of his rulings and have no issue with opposition to nor criticism of his opinions on certain issues. He was a US SC Justice and I will not personally criticize a Justice, regardless of their positions. Let me also point out that his confirmation by the Senate was by a 98-0 vote. I just don't see the equivalence to CSA war hero or politician.
The discussion over the RKBA has been heated but the 2A is still part of the Bill of Rights. I don't expect that any article therein will ever be altered or removed. The debate is part of "the animated contest of freedom".
However, it's always fun to MMQB 98 US Senators.

Or is such scrutiny to be reserved for those you deem not to have the proper antigun stance?
