With new grass-roots and advocacy organizations, better financing, and stronger support from the Democratic Party, it has, arguably, never been stronger. But on Wednesday, the Supreme Court will hear a case that is likely to call into question many of the reforms at the top of the movements agenda
The justices are considering the constitutionality of a New York law that makes it hard for residents to obtain a permit to carry concealed firearms in public. The court, with three conservative pro-gun justices appointed by former President Donald Trump, will almost certainly say New Yorks law is too restrictive under the Second Amendment

Your mileage may vary.

(1,666 posts)A few reasons:
This SCOTUS will never approve a ban on sales, let alone a ban that demands owners give up their semi-autos for a tax credit worth half the property value.
Red states would ignore a ban anyway, bringing up blue states ignoring federal drug laws.
A percentage of gun-owning Democrats will ignore a ban now that they see possible real violence in the future.
Two Democratic holdouts that will shut down trying to expand the court to get the decision some Democratic legislators would like on a gun case.
If this court rules the Texas law is ok, then Blue states can get even by outlawing gun ownership with bounties; which will likely cause revenge shootings. But this country is already on track for a good Ol fashion Roman Burning, so away we go down the bounties for civil rights one way highway.
"If this court rules the Texas law is ok, then Blue states can get even by outlawing gun ownership with bounties;"
A good percentage of pro lifers have predicted this as well, so hopefully the courts will recognize this and overturn the Texas law.
