in that thread is valid as once someone uses a gun in a crime, they are now criminals.

However, ways of analyzing this are to:

1. Look at the crime rates of concealed carry permit holders This data is available from Texas as well as Florida.
2. Look at gun crimes that involve previously convicted felons. I am unsure if that information is collated or not or if this would require a broad research project looking at primary sources. The issue there is whether or not that information is properly collected and reported.

The latter is beyond the scope of most armchair researchers and the former carries 1) significant bias in that the level of background checks on CCP weed out criminals and 2) the population is relatively small when compared to the entirety of the US population so that will attract the "Yeah but..." crowd.

"I have wondered if all the gun violence increases (20-30% every year since 2014)"

Weapons 2014 2015 2016 2017 2018
Total 12,278 13,780 15,318 15,195 14,123
Total firearms: 7,803 9,103 10,372 11,006 10,265
Handguns 5,342 6,176 6,762 7,051 6,603
Rifles 235 215 300 390 297
Shotguns 238 247 247 264 235
Other guns 88 151 172 180 167

Looks like it went DOWN in '18. Looks like your % numbers are off, too.
