So I got this fund raising email . . .

NRA

Friend,

The eyes of our nation are on Georgia.

Every seat in the Senate is of critical importance; the fate of the Second Amendment could come down to just one vote.

We all know what Joe Biden and his Democrat cronies will do if they go unchecked. They won't stop until every lawfully owned firearm is banned, registered, confiscated, and destroyed. With everyone's attention on Georgia, we need to do everything in our power to help save the Second Amendment for the great people of that state. That's why we're calling on you, Friend, to chip in TODAY.

Let's be clear: We NEED to save the Second Amendment from gun grabber Joe Biden and his Senate puppets. There's simply no other way to put it.

SAVE THE SECOND AMENDMENT »[link to donate to the NRA]

Democrats have been raising historic amounts of money to prop up their anti-gun agenda, and we need to match their efforts. The NRA is committed to fighting for YOU to preserve your constitutional right to bear arms. But we can't do it alone.

That's why we need YOU, Friend, to chip in TODAY to bolster our efforts during these difficult times.

Please contribute ANY AMOUNT TODAY to stand up to the Biden Democrats and DEFEND YOUR FREEDOMS. >>[link to donate to the NRA]

For over 150 years, the NRA has been America's strongest advocate for our sacred right to keep and bear arms. We've made immeasurable progress in our fight, but with Joe Biden in the White House, our most trying days are still ahead. That's why we NEED to band together NOW and fight back against the Left's insane agenda.

We must unite as one movement to save the Second Amendment. You are an imperative part of this, Friend. We need all hands on deck.

Please contribute ANY AMOUNT TODAY to help us fight to preserve our freedoms. >>[link to donate to the NRA]

Thank you,

The National Rifle Association

This is too funny on so many levels.
1.I and my grandson got on the NRA's mailing list by taking a subscription to an outdoor magazine 15 years ago.
2.After initial outreach haven't gotten any other requests in 15 years.
3.Starts with Georgia election but nowhere links to Georgia campaign donations. Hey! Georgia!, now give the NRA money . . . Hershel who??
4.Says that we won't stop until every lawfully owned firearm is banned, registered, confiscated, and destroyed when the only things on the table are red-flag laws, background checks and one specific type of firearm.
5.Siged it 'the National Rifle Association' because every name on the board of directors is toxic.
and THE BEST ONE! They have dug so deep into the archived files they came up with MY NAME!

I have a reputation here, right? Please tell me I have a reputation here and you think this is as funny as I do!

I thought Obama already confiscated all of the guns.

He didn't?

And just change out the names.

I found some old ones when cleaning out a closet.

They were, going after Rudy G and some police chief in LAPD.

I guess it helps keep it simple that way.

comment from a blog (DU I think)

I had a coworker who was a big time gun owner who kept a gun in every room in the house just in case someone broke in (lots of problems with that idea, may be worth a blog article someday, but that’s what he did). He even went so far as to start buying more guns for each room after a school shooting, like home invasion and mass shooting are correlated somehow. He had let his NRA membership lapse and refused to renew it because he got tired of nonstop requests for donations. To him all the membership did was give the NRA to badger him for more money with phone calls, and direct mailings. If the
organization is as strapped for cash as it appears, those solicitations may have gone way over the top and people are simply tired of being badgered for money and are choosing to let their membership to lapse.
