U.S. appeals court to reconsider ban on nonviolent felons owning guns
By Nate Raymond
(Reuters) - A federal appeals court on Friday said it would reconsider next month whether a federal law prohibiting nonviolent felons from owning firearms is constitutional in the wake of the U.S. Supreme Court's decision last year expanding gun rights.
The Philadelphia-based 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals voted to have the full court rehear the case of a Pennsylvania man convicted of welfare fraud who argued the ban violates the U.S. Constitution's Second Amendment right to bear arms.
A three-judge panel in November had ruled against Bryan Range, who had argued it was unconstitutional under the U.S. Supreme Court's June holding in New York State Rifle & Pistol Association v. Bruen.

(16,386 posts)1. SCOTUS fucked up!!!
It seems that each time SCOTUS kills a sensible gun law...the body count goes up...and yet they whine about protection for them and their families...leaving the rest of us vulnerable.
Besides this ruling, the 5th Circuit has decided to block a ban on bump stocks...and then they say that Congress needs to address this...knowing good and well that the gun humpers in congress won't do shit to protect the American people!
We are fucked as a country...because a large group of fucking racists and bigots...are slowly making the US all white all the time...

(prison and probation), why should you not get all your rights -- including voting -- back automatically?
If the ex-cons are still a danger to society, maybe they should still be in prison.
