following her conscience in making a decision about her professional future.
James ("Jamie" Kirchick is a fellow at the neoconservative Foundation for Defense of with Democracies (FDD) and a contributing editor at the New Republic. A former writer-at-large for Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, Kirchick has also contributed to various rightist outlets like the Weekly Standard and Commentary magazine's Contentions blog, as well as numerous mainstream publications, including the Los Angeles Times and Politico.[1] - See more at: http://rightweb.irc-online.org/profile/kirchick_james

Kirchick is an erstwhile liberal who apparently had veered to the right by the time he arrived at Yale, where he graduated in 2006. In a 2007 article for the Boston Globe about dating difficulties as a conservative gay man, Kirchick described himself as a "gay recovering leftist," adding that "there's nothing about my homosexuality that dictates a belief about raising the minimum wage, withdrawing immediately from Iraq, and backing teachers' unions: all liberal causes that I strongly oppose."[12] - See more at: http://rightweb.irc-online.org/profile/kirchick_james

The Foundation for Defense of Democracies (FDD) has been a vocal presence in Washington since its founding in the days following the 9/11 attacks as a self-described nonpartisan policy institute dedicated exclusively to promoting pluralism, defending democratic values, and fighting the ideologies that threaten democracy. But FDDs position consistently fell in line with the Bush administrations militant war on terror and policies espoused by Israels right wing Likud party. In recent years, FDD has become one of the the premiere DC organizations promoting more aggressive actions against Iran.

Exclusive: RT Anchor Liz Wahl Explains Why She Quit
James Kirchick
...
Wahl initially reached out to me in August, after I launched my own impromptu protest on RT against Putins homophobic repression. Wahl felt morally compromised working for the network, she told me, but wasnt yet prepared to quit.
We stayed in touch periodically over the past 6 months, and I always encouraged her to follow her conscience in making a decision about her professional future. The networks absurd coverage of Russias invasion, Wahl told me earlier this week, was the last straw.
