I've stopped watching

I used to watch a variety of news talk shows including CNN and MSNBC on a daily basis, since the election i've stopped watching these shows as the election results pointed out just how wrong they could be in their political opinions/viewpoints,they also are covering Trump 24/7 ,i cant stand this creep.its rather galling to watch this whiny ego maniac get his ego fed so thoroughly.

I will flip on the local news for a bit here and there. Realistically you can get every piece of information you need without the TV set ever going to a "news" channel.

I hope that more do just what you are doing and stop watching all of them, they can do the echo chamber(s) all by themselves and don't need me to participate.

It's my go to so that I know of any natural disasters that occurred in the night. Then they start in on all the 'fun' stuff and I switch to the science channel, history channel or AXSTV to see if there are any concerts or Dan Rather interviews with old rock stars.

I can't stand to watch news for more than a couple of minutes at a time.

In particular I avoided clicking on anything related to "Hamilton" and all Trump tweets. "Blah responds to Trump tweet" = don't click it. The whole reason why he's president is ... drumroll ... for the ratings. How's that for a post mortem? Starve the beast.

I used to be totally tuned in to MSNBC from about 6 to 11 pm, every night. Now I'd rather watch Law and Order reruns or Nat Geo and Discovery ID while I keep an eye on things via a few select internet sites.

in honor of Walter Cronkite, and Edward R. Murrow, and real journalists. I do tune in to the local channel at 20 past the hour to get the 7 day weather forecast. And,I have been getting some reportage and opining from the Thom Hartmann Show and the Bill Press Show, on The Free Speech TV network.

Otherwise Corporate media is totally dead to me.

When everyone got on board without complaint, I knew it was time to leave the "news". It's just a big propaganda machine now. And, in the next 4 years, it's only going to get worse.

God rest Walter Cronkite, and his collegues.

jambo101 and everyone else,

This is my first reply to a post. I realize you started this post back in November 2016 but since that time I am certain you have heard, read or saw the news regarding "Alternative Facts".

CNN and other news media outlets are no longer sucking up to Der Fuhrer Trump and his cronies. That was then.

My philosophical and natural instinct is to roll with the punches then punch back harder and faster.

I realize you may be depressed by all the past news coverage of the 2016 Presidential Election but it's over now and we must all fight back. Trump will always be news now because he conned his way into the Oval Office.

Hopefully you at least watch your local news for updates in your community. It would be very sad for us to worry about your mental health.

I suggest a hobby, lifestyle change or something positive.

Enjoy Life While You Can!!!
