Media
Related: About this forumI Don't Think the "Media" likes "Eagles vs Patriots".... in the "Superbowl"
Now, this is just an opinion. That's all. The Media likes two teams from totally "major" cities. Now no offense is intended, but "New England" vs Philadelphia would not be considered .. major in the eyes of the big wig "media bosses." I must say, I don't care one way or another, but I think the "media" would like another "L.A" vs "New York".
Why?..."L.A." vs "New York" get higher ratings than "Philadelphia" vs "New England" But as Sargent Shultz used to say..."I know nothing." and in this case, I am stating an opinion from a non football fan. I am from the Midwest.............."Go Cubs"....?

(38,726 posts)You got to be kidding...Is there a team in "Jacksonville" where is that? Who is that? I do like your term..."cracker bowl." You don't mean "Jacksonville Florida"? Do You?.. Does that town have an NFL team?
as stated before..."I know nothing"....thank you for reading this one.....................
wait a moment....I googled Jacksonville............and immediately came up with Jaguars. Didn't they play yesterday???? oops.....................my lack of football interest is showing again...
The Jacksonville Jaguars led New England in the American Conference championship game at halftime -- but Brady pulled off one of his miracles. As a Philly fan (my wife would shoot me otherwise) I was hoping for Jacksonville.

(3,943 posts)I've seen it derived from "braggart" but I think it really refers to the nasal tone common in the dialects of many white southern groups. I have been reprimanded for referring to myself as a "redneck." This was taken as an expression of racism against nonwhites on my part. WTF? People with a transparent skin like mine get a chronic sunburn, especially if they work outdoors in a subtropical region. I don't, and my sunburn is not nearly as evident as my dad's was -- he did -- but the fact remains:I. Have. A. Red. Neck. But here's the thing. We good old boys pretty much don't give a damn what names we are called. Sometimes we take pride in them.

(43,486 posts)They fielded some really strong teams in the late 90s. Nearly went to the Super Bowl several times before losing their way. I think theyll be a force to contend with over the next few years.
Dont knock the Jags.

(38,726 posts)..............you know, the east coast vs the west coast and all that nonsense. But .....But, But.
and here is a very very important ..."But", if this ridiculous discussion takes our minds off of the total idiot in the White HOuse...then I wlll indeed say this, "It should have been Boston vs Philadelphia"

(4,866 posts)Are you trolling? (Just kidding!)
Never call New York better than Boston and expect not to hear from us Red Sox fans.

(38,726 posts)Did you ever try to find a parking place for your car in Manhattan ? Tell me, what kind of name is "Manhattan"?
Who thought that one up?...
I would rather try to park my car in Boston. It is a far better place than....a suburb called, "Manhattan"
that word sounds like some reference to Batman and Robin in some crime show..
and here it is, instantly..from the search just completed..a map of Manhattan. (it does instant searches too)

It doesn't hear that he's also the GOAT, by the way.
