A reporter says the White House suspended his credentials in an ‘attempt to stifle the free press’

By Michael Brice-Saddler August 2 at 11:07 PM

Brian Karem, the chief White House correspondent for Playboy magazine, said Friday that his press pass is being suspended for 30 days in what he called an “anti-First Amendment move.”

The suspension will begin Monday, Karem said. In an interview late Friday, he said the White House told him the suspension was related to his actions in the Rose Garden nearly a month ago, where he infamously sparred with former White House aide Sebastian Gorka.

The White House wrote that Karem “failed to abide by basic norms of decorum and order” on July 11, Karem said. The letter further suggested that Karem had been rude to Gorka — “a guest of the president.”

But Karem told The Washington Post he thinks the move was retaliation by the White House for his tough questioning of President Trump. He said his attorney will appeal the suspension Monday.

“They’re claiming [the reason is] something that happened 21 days ago. I’m there every day. If this was an issue, it should’ve been brought to my attention long before now,” Karem said. “I know what they say the issue is, but that’s not the real issue, or they could’ve talked to me at any point in time prior to now. As a matter of record, they never spoke to me once about it.”

They did the same thing for Jim Acosta from CNN last year. They just like to bully people but they don't want to be called "bullies" in the media.

Obviously the trash in the white house doesn't mind fights and threats. They are use to it. But don't question the fat orange blod who thinks he won an election.

The press acts like this is a normal president.
No. He hates them. He lies and manipulates them.
They all need to stop going to the White House.
Just leave. The lies don’t help us.

They need to turn off the cameras.. let fox and the fascist media cover him.. The so called mainstream should turn him off when he's spewing lies, which is all the time.

If they just stopped covering him, he'd get the message immediately. He thrives on their attention: good or bad, it's all the same to him. When the press caught on that any appearance he made as POTUS was just an excuse to have a "rally," the majority of the press just stopped covering them. Now he has to honestly call his appearances "rallies," instead of trying to pass them off as "press conferences," as he did at first. His only real interaction with the press is when he's standing in front of a helicopter, about to go golfing somewhere, and reporters have to shout over the rotor noise.

They have any opportunity to question the Dictator. Seriously. He has systematically dismantled the entire briefing process both with him and with the press secretary as we have known it.

All we are left with are the occasional press conference s with a world leader. And his Copter Pressers.

The copter Pressers are a scam that the press should boycott. You can't hear the question and it allows him to riff about any topic he wants and to cut out any follow-up.

This is by design. And I have been saying that the rotors noise is something he could stop any time he wanted. But it drowns out the press and makes him look busy like whisking off to important meeting. (Golf).

The NEW mystery is that I noticed the other day, when he walked to his copter the rotors WERE NOT moving! So where is the noise coming from?

Is coming from the APU...the auxiliary power unit which provides ground power when the rotor turbine isn't running.

It's not like he acts like timing is critical. So the copter sits there with the power on readying it to take it off? Why not demand that he speak 1/2 he before?
