http://www.alternet.org/election-2012/david-gregory-beclowns-himself-awful-performance-moderating-elizabeth-warren-scottOctober 2, 2012 Monday nights Elizabeth Warren/Scott Brown debate turned out to be memorable. Not so much because of what the candidates said, but because of the bad reviews of the debate moderater, David Gregory. The NBC Meet the Press host used the badgering style of that show on both candidates, inserting himself heatedly into a hectic discussion that seemed to center on media talking points and playing gotcha rather than substantive issues. Viewers were neither amused nor informed.
Gregory got off to a bad start, opening the evening with a question about Warrens supposed Native American heritage, which was exactly the same question that opened the first debate. The utterly unenlightening discussion went on for a full ten minutes.
As he lobbed patronizing, irrelevant questions at both candidates, Twitter erupted into fury on both sides of the political aisle.

Gregory thinks if he talks real loud, he will fool people so they won't know he is an air-head, .... and a dick.

(23,664 posts)Shouldn't they have had someone from a local news organization?
Or was there a reason why one of the candidates wanted him there?
And which candidate do you suppose that might be?

(23,664 posts)She'd make an excellent moderator for one of the debates. Since she actually has a stake in the election.
Like there's a chance in a billion that Brown would ever agree to have her there.

(60,536 posts)City of 60,000 in Central Mass, about 50 miles north of Springfield. Home of Smith College. Great city. Years ago, one of the TV networks (ABC, CBS, NBC) did a big expose about Northampton, calling it "the lesbian capital of the world." I'm from Amherst, across the Connecticut River and two towns over from NoHo, as we all call it. Amherst is home of Amherst College and the University of Massachusetts.
I've been entertaining thoughts of Rachel replacing David Gregory as host of Meet the Press.
