[He's a Lt Col in the U.S. Air Force, the service I spent over 10 years on active duty, and where I now work as a civilian.] And the picture of the poor Kurdish girl who's lost her home and can never go back? So I counter with a question of my own. “Have you heard that Incirlik has been occupied by the Russians?”

“Incirlik? What's that?”

[God. This is a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Air Force, just two promotions below General (pray he never gets there), and he doesn't recognize ….] “Incirlik is the big US Air Force base in Turkey, under the NATO treaty.”

So I'm waiting for him to ask 'Where did you hear that', so I can answer “The Air Force Times”... but instead I walk out and let him go back to his memes.
