Happy Birthday soldiers 249 years of First sgt pain in the ass details

In honor of U.S.Army’s birthday shit on shingle today.

Actually told kid at butcher the other day he’s on delayed entry to leave for Benning in august I said don’t go army go Air Force.

He asked why i said Air Force is a corporation the army is incestuous in their actions and thought process. He then said well my recruiter may get mad i said tell your recruiter fuck off.

Asked Air Force recruiter to validate parking while visiting recruiter offices downtown. Nope. Army recruiter did though plus got me my E-2 on entry so I went with his offer. Air Force always has been the more selective service.

My dad served and he had many good stories he shared with me. He attended a reunion every year until there were no more of them left.

Did my basic and return year at Benning(Moore now)

I was drafted into the Marines, knew about it a couple of months before, so started to visit the recruiters looking to get into the Navy(Navy family) or Air Force but they had 6 mo waiting lists. Army recruiter standing in the door watching me with a smile. Took the Army for three and my chosen MOS, stayed out of VN, thought I did good by going to Korea instead. But I won the Agent Orange lottery being on the DMZ the very same year they sprayed everything. Yay

He was there in Late 60’s he was telling us over beers one night he was telling us how the American army and North Koreans then were still killing each other up on the Z.

I never knew.

one just last week, minor

South Korean forces fired warning shots on Sunday after North Korean troops accidentally crossed their shared border, Seoul’s military said, as tensions simmer on the Korean Peninsula following a series of tit-for-tat exchanges between the two sides.

we had three days of -65, no one went to work but us telephone guys. We had to walk the mile to the switchboard in our mickey mouse inflatable boots and parkas cinched tight over our faces. Pretty much everyone actually relaxed because the N. Korean diesels wouldn't start either, lol.

I will say that’s kind of hard to get into the Aur Force now. Harder than it used to be.

If I’d gone into the Air Force my whole experience could have been drastically different. Hell I’d probably be retired about now.

My unit was a nightmare and lifers who came into just shook their heads. One told me, “This isn’t the Army”. Crazy time. Glad I did it but it was 3 tough years.

I’m sure this line is stolen but we used to say - When you’re not in the Cav, every meal is a banquet and every day a parade.

I agree lifers were terrible friend my first unit was cool yet on PCS to west Germany that was loaded with lifers.

Have good day underpants oh and I’m so glad that your student loans were canceled I read that awhile ago take care.

When I see this in them getting wiped out I’m happy for anyone who had them cleared.

I did four years active in the Army. They don't have tanks in the Air Force.

Not your fault, brother, and not your worth as a soldier and a human being.
