My stepdad was an infantry man during the war & my dad served in the navy during the war off of the Korean coasts. They both made me acutely aware of the fact that war is g-d damn h-ll. I served four years when I was a teenager in the 80's and I never forgot what they told me. I drilled it into the heads of my fellow soldiers and privates below me. I wanted them to be prepared in case the sh-t hit the fan. IME.
