Software problems could delay F-35's delivery beyond 2017

Air Force Lt. Gen. Christopher Bogdan, program executive officer for the $397 billion F-35 Joint Strike Fighter program, says software problems could delay the F-35's delivery beyond 2017, Nextgov reports.

Bogdan said he would have a better picture of the situation after a critical design review and at least six months of flight tests are completed on the Block 2B software delivered by Lockheed Martin. Both the review and the tests are scheduled for early this summer.

Well, thank goodness the program is only $397 billion.

We all want our austerity to assure us that there are trillions of dollars of high-tech weapons to keep us safe in our hovels and able to die in less violent ways than we are supposed to imagine we could without them.

I feel bad for those who will have to suffer delayed gratification in obtaining new terror toys of mass destruction. That's got to suck.

We should keep an eye out on more beneficial programs we can slash and cut to make more billions available to our friendly and altruistic MIC.

Bombs away!
