I'll have to pass this on to the guys on the veteran's community that I frequent from time to time.

I'm lucky. My claim was approved and went through the system very quick and ended (better than I expected) in my favor. However, I think a lot of it has to do with which region your claim is submitted in. I lived in Delaware at the time. I would imagine a larger state would have more claims in the shuffle and would take a lot longer to get results out of.
