In honor of Memorial Day, a couple of months ago, the folks behind the Sundance Film Festival decided to dig up a short honorable mention winner from 2007 and put it up on YouTube. Called Spitfire 944, the film show WWII Photo Reconnaissance pilot Lt Col. John S. Blyth telling his story and reacting to footage of a crash landing he made all the way back in 1944 that he had never seen before.

(2,226 posts)I enjoy going to airshows to see and hear the old Warbirds. My father in law as a B17 Navigator and to see his expression when a B17 flew over our town and landed for the local airshow was awesome. He enjoyed seeing the old plane and loved showing it to his grandchildren but Perk had absolutely no desire to fly in one every again. Our airshow included the opportunity to go for a 30 minute ride in one. Absolutely gorgeous machines!
