soul in my music but: I loved it when military bands came through the hospitals in Nam and gave every GI an escape to a better time and place in their lives. By the time I left Nam my appreciation of music had exploded. Since then I have even been known to attend a "Yodel Off".

My Dad was in the Navy during WWII, so I've always had a special regard for sailors.

He was an Electrician's Mate towing target barges for naval gunnery practice off Hawaii, but his brothers were in hard combat in the Army and Marines.
And dad's three sons served later. My older brother got out of the Marines just before Vietnam. And my little brother and I served together in Vietnam. Sorry, though--we were both Army.
