Few beers with sgt major

On back porch talking with sgt major ray. Ray is a 25 year NCO army infantry. He served in Texas star I have no clue I was I think 4 years old then. I have read about ripcord. And as former airborne infantry 84-87 thankful I never had to live insanity as war. Ray sgt major told me about the NVA in firefights personal coming to kill you. Today ray is like A 69 year old but to me he is a stud warrior. And it took Harry Truman to allow blacks in infantry to desegregate the army. I just joking told ray as a joke why you can thank Truman for that shit. Fucking president who thinks as progressive asshole , Infantry sense of humor.

and he would tell me stories of his time there... like when he was delivering classified documents to Khe Sanh... the plane wouldn't actually land... they would fly over low and slow and lower the rear ramp... push out the supplies and my friend would jump to the airstrip while all around the marines would lay down suppressing fire. Mad dash to a trench...

getting out was a reverse operation... even more dangerous.
